The other day at the Dallas field, Don approached me about making a trade we once discussed in the Summer of 2017. At that time, I offered a lightly used Saito 82a for the Kaos plane complete with servos and Enya 60 two stroke engine, and mechanical retracts. We didn't know each other much then, as I had just joined the Dallas club. It was a no go then because Don had recently finished the plane and still was attached to it. So I forgot all about it. So the other day, he refreshed my memory and asked if I still wanted to make the trade, to which I pretty readily agreed. We made the trade a couple days ago at his beautiful home. Since that time, I have installed my receiver and battery, then made some mechanical trim adjustments such as changing one aileron servo horn to match the other in length, and remounting one elevator control horn closer to the hinge line to match the other elevator half. I also programmed my Futaba xmitter with some expo on ailerons and elevator similar to my other planes. This is gonna be a fun flyer!
This is just a place for me to ramble (sometimes rant) about my hobbies which include radio controlled airplanes, oil paintings, my sports cars, and any other random blithering from me.
Aloha and Welcome to my small speck of cyberspace! Dec 8, 2010 is the birth date of my blog. Never had one before, but my son encouraged me to have one, and it seemed like a good way to at least keep a log of my RC airplane building and flying. With the initial design kicked off by my son, I'll carry on from here and have fun with it. Now that I have it, I will use it to also keep track of my oil painting efforts, and any other ideas, hobbies, travels, or whatever else that come up. LIFE IS GOOD!
Update on 02/25/2011. It's been a few months since I began this blog, and I am enjoying creating and having it! I like documenting the things I have done in my hobbies, and sharing with my small family. I think Jer and Tad actually view it fairly regularly, as a means to see what I've been up to lately. At worst, it serves as a reference for my own use.
Update on 12/22/2011. This blog stuff is habit forming. My blog is a year old now, and I make an entry about every other day or so as that seems to be the frequency of doing something in one of my hobbies. Like my hobbies, this blog is a lot of fun, and it has become in itself another hobby that I enjoy.
Years are flying by...update on 01/11/2013. Still enjoying maintaining this blog even though hardly anyone sees it. I don't advertise it anywhere or to anyone, and it is mainly just a way for me to keep my own notes and thoughts on my flying, painting, and cars. If a stranger happens upon it, I think it is by pressing NEXT at the top of the current blog they are visiting, lol. It's a great device for me.
August 2014: still here! Took up flying RC helicopters one year ago and got hooked. Had flown micro Helis up to then, but got serious with 450 size for a couple months, then bought the Goblin 500 and Gaui X5 . Also got my Boxster in April 2013. Most importantly, Ariel was born 12/02/12 followed by Skylar 07/20/13, and they are little beacons of joy in our lives. Life is indeed good!!!

Exceptional Good Weather!
Blessed with exceptionally nice weather, i got to fly Saturday and Sunday! I flew Saturday at the Keizer club field. Had 2 flights on the X5, 2 on the 7HV, and 4 on the Osiris! Then today I had 3 flights with the Bravata! Great conditions both days with sunny skies after light spotty fog, and calm wind becoming light breezes over a few hours at the fields. Temps were mid 40's at the start of each day, and mid 50's by the time i left the field...ultra nice and rare in the middle of January.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!!!!
Been too lazy to enter blog reports , but indeed i have been flying since the last entry on 10/25/2017! I was however sick a bunch of times and did not fly as frequently, but i have been flying almost weekly. Suffice to say i flew mostly planes while sick, and i flew mostly at the Dallas club with the old gang that is super entertaining. I will just pick up now and report that i flew the Polar Fly Day, New Years Day, with the Keizer guys. Anticipating cold conditions i just flew the Aerostar 40F, using all five packs that i have for that plane. It turned out so nice at the field with sun and almost no wind that it was very comfy, and i should have flown a nitro or gasser! The turnout was great, and so was the flying and lunch...chili, hot dogs, fried chicken, corn bread, chips, desserts. The open fire pit kept warm those that found it too cold....not me.
Then today, Jan 6, i flew again and was all alone most of the time. I wanted it that way though because i needed solitude to fly my X5 for the first time in months. Got four flights in without incident, yay! After that a visiting flyer from Florence, OR showed up and i invited him to fly as my guest. He had a foamie Cirrus SR-22 and flew it well enough. At that time i flew my Toledo Special a couple flights. All went well with that plane, as groovy as ever.
